the murtabaksataytulangstingrayorluamiloteh swirled in our tummies as the the darned mubarak sent the car spinning round the roundabout ten times. and then we all cried out, 2.45pm! pretending to be very awake at 2.45pm -on the other side of the globe- because maulanar was already trying to adjust to the time difference. we gave up pretending and caught a cat nap (that's ok with m, because people do take afternoon naps) in m's living room, sprawled out like we did when we watched howl's moving castle. and then he took off at the last call at dawn to another fresh start. have fun with the nudes, dude. <3

dressed up to the eyes
it's a wonderful surprise
to see your shoes and your spirits rise
throwing out your frown
and just smiling at the sound
and as sleek as a shriek
spinning round and round
always take a big bite
it's such a gorgeous sight
to see you eat in the middle of the night
you can never get enough
enough of this stuff
it's Friday, i'm in love

thanks for this ^ poster!
oh! arent these lyrics quite apt.

when we go a-backpacking together, we'll pack lotsa maggi mee to use as bait. first it's maggi mee, then it's marry me. if travel plans come to naught, you'll catch us hanging out at irish pubs, with the noodles.

laulau's very early bday gathering was a giant success in gathering the 412 babes. we laughed so boisterously, it is lucky we were sitted slightly away from the rest of the party. in a flash, the straits kitchen was closing and we had to leave. not wanting to end the night just yet, the northies stumbled around ah-beng land boat quay and the cbd, retracing some of the steps we took on that field trip years ago. finally, we visited a bakery-at an unearthly hour, no less.

still, my stomach swoops.

my knees creak.

my kid neighbour cries everytime he sees me. :'(

this week sees the battle of the schools. it is mildly exasperating to be stereotyped but the loud arguments during the long lulls before delayed tutorials tickle us all.

this week sees my cg rushing around in a clerking frenzy like never before, but as usual lamenting our team's uber short patient list. (it broke the record today.)

early this morning, i was greeted by a happy post-partial-gastrectomy patient trotting about the hospital, eager to be discharged. at lunchtime, i saw a distraught man who'd just learned that he had cancer; i'd clecked him yesterday and we'd both thought that maybe he had gastritis, nothing too serious. in the evening before i left the hospital, this same man had recovered somewhat and actually bade a cheery goodbye. i hope his outcome will be as pleasant as the earlier patient's.

they tried to make me go to rehab but i said 'no, no, no'

crazy at the esplanade
it was crazy in the city hall area. thousands thronged, rubbing sweaty shoulders arms and legs but it was surprisingly not all too unpleasant. after an hour, i bumped into ivan m (my phone had no reception) and we snuck into one fullerton, slipped through the crowd and under barriers. without too much trouble, we found a sweet spot, next to the merlion, with an awesome view of marina bay. magic.

we got an AWESOME view at merlion park

deafened by the bloody speaker
the bloody speakers next to us boomed so very loudly; a very lovely young man turned it away from the crowd several times and eventually pulled the wires out. bravo!

chinooks
the chinooks again.

dusk
night descends stealthily.

night desends on the merlion

gentle jellyfish
gentle jellyfish lurking in the bay.

boom boom
now if this wasnt the highlight.

sushi feastafter the crowd had subsided somewhat, the love club satisfied our sushi craving by the fountain of wealth. (big $ big $!) it would have been nice to stretch out and hang loose late into the night but work, school and travel beckon oh shit we are growing old too quickly we miss the post-national day holiday- imagine the long weekend.

---

last night, i saw a fishbone poking out of a merkel's diverticulum. cool beans. i was very very tired, but that was an enjoyable call, much thanks to quanyao, paul and yoke lin.
